White Cross Fire Department is always seeking new members to join. The process is pretty simple.
There are two classes of member:
The First class, you must live with in 1 mile of the White Cross Fire District and be able to respond to the nearest station in a timely manner.
The Second class is if you live grater than 1 mile from the district line, you must pull duty hours in the station. It requires 20 hours a month in a minimum of 3 hours blocks.
All members must be at least 18 years of age and have a North Carolina Driver Licenses or ID, You must consent to criminal history and back ground Check. The consent form is attached to the packet. Have an acceptable driving record; cannot be a convicted felon. We will review misdemeanors on case-by-case basis; It is recommend that you attended a few training session, so other members can meet you. Meetings/Training are every Monday night starting at 19:00 hours, excect for holidays; If you are applying for Medical Responder you must have a valid NC medical Responder certification or higher.
You can down load the forms from the web site or stop by the station and pick up the forms.
There is usually paid Staff at the fire station from 8:00AM-4:00PM Monday through saturday. Once the forms are filled out please bring the to station during the same hours as above. Thank you for your interest in the fire Department.
